The group leave Chorley at 09.00 and return at approx. 17.30. Car sharing and pickups are arranged on Tuesday evenings by Denny Robinson. The walks take place in all weathers and are through fields and over moorland for up to 10 miles. Some walks can be fairly hilly. Walking boots, waterproofs, packed lunches and drinks are essential.
Car expenses are currently calculated at 10p per person per mile. Walks are usually within a 50 mile radius of Chorley and the cost of a return journey is capped at £10 maximum. On most walks there is an optional visit to a cafe at the end of the afternoon.
The transport is usually limited to 6 cars because of parking restrictions and this means that there is sometimes a waiting list for people wanting to join the group.
