Please note that walkers are advised to ensure that they have adequate Insurance cover whilst taking part in our walks as U3A is unable to accept responsibility for personal accidents. Members are covered for Public Liability.
The walks are fairly local and tend to be less strenuous than either the long or intermediate walks. Usually they are between 5 and 7 miles.
Essential requirements are - strong footwear, good rainwear and a packed lunch.
Sometimes there is a pub-lunch when the latter is not required.
Transport is usually by car-sharing and contributions are made to the cost of fuel on a pro rata basis.
The central assembly point is at QS (Big Value) car park in Chorley. However, some members with cars arrange their own car sharing and go direct to the parking place at the start of the walk.
